Bread maker has become a popular appliance in every household. The basic model of the breadmaker comes with bread pan and a paddle that is connected to a multi- purpose baking oven. Breadmakers are available in different models and have various features that help in preparing variety of breads. The breads that can be baked in the bread maker vary from premium white loaf, plain pizza dough, French loaf, and whole grain bread. Most of machines have timers that can be set for preparation of bread. Some of the machines have specific features like delay start and other custom program options.

The breadmaker was first introduced in 1986 in Japan by Panasonic and it became more popular in Europe in the next one decade. It is simple to use and one will have to add the ingredients to the pan of the bread maker and the rest is taken care by the appliance. The liquids get into the appliance first and then the solid particles are taken in, as the yeast starts to react immediately when it comes in contact with water. The ingredients must be kept separately till the program is started. It will help to provide the right colour and size as desired.

The process involved in breadmaker varies based on the program that is chosen and the temperature at which it is being done. The bread maker first prepares the dough with the help of paddle. It then allows the bread to rise using the temperature control and when it rises it starts to bake. When this process is completed the bread is removed from the pan. The bread will have a small dent due to the paddle at the base of the bread. Bread makers produce bread, which varies from 50 gm to 1.25 kg. Some of the supermarkets sell premixed bread making ingredients that help you to complete the process much faster.

Some of the models have different features like delay start that helps the user to plan the process. One can set the morning breakfast in the previous night and have it ready for serving. It is also used for preparing rice cakes, pasta dough and jam. Every bread maker is Teflon coated and this does not make the bread stick to the pan. Several brands of bread maker are available in the market and one can make the right choice based on the requirement.
